Galatasaray have identified Manchester United’s Christian Eriksen as their ‘main target’ to bolster their midfield.
That’s according to Fotomaç, who share details of the Istanbul club’s plan to try and sign the 31-year-old.
The winter market in Turkey is open until Friday and Galatasaray are set to be active in the last days of the window. They are focusing on the Manchester United player for the midfield.
Galatasaray’s Sérgio Oliveira seems to haven’t convinced manager Okan Buruk which is why the focus is Eriksen.
The Turkish club have raised over €35m from Sacha Boey and Cédric Bakambu’s sales and will use these funds to acquire the Denmark international’s services.
It’s said Galatasaray are preparing to take the former Ajax man on loan with an option to buy. The report adds the negotiations with both Manchester United and Eriksen are taking place with ‘great secrecy’.
Fotomaç don’t mention figures but state if the deal’s agreed, the Dane will join the Turkish club immediately. If not, a ‘promise will be made’ to take him away from Erik ten Hag’s side in the summer.
Eriksen’s contract lasts until 2025 and has made 19 appearances this season, managing a goal and two assists in the process.
