In the past few hours, a mix of reports from England and Spain claimed that Sevilla are interested in signing Wilfried Gnonto from Leeds United.
With not many details, it’s been said that the La Liga side could make a late attempt to get the 20-year-old landed this month.
It turns out that as Marca now shares a story on Sevilla’s transfer window, they simply rule out a potential deal with Leeds for Gnonto.
The outlet mentions the recent rumours involving the Spanish club, and claims there are ‘no chances’ that the Italian player will arrive there.
The report doesn’t get into the reasons why Sevilla can’t sign Gnonto right now, but that should have to do with Leeds’ resistance to selling the player and the fact the La Liga club aren’t exactly flush with cash.
Recent stories from the English media have been saying that the Whites are actually interested in giving the forward a contract extension with the club.
As Gnonto still fights for a starting place at Leeds, he has one goal and one assist in 23 appearances this season. His current deal with them runs until 2027.
