Manchester City, and the City Football Group’s, plundering of Argentine talent may be set to continue as they eye a move for Velez youngster Lautaro López.
That’s according to TyC Sports, who say the midfielder could be the latest young talent to join the ever-expanding City Group network.
They explain that that the group, which is of course headed up by Manchester City, have long set their eyes on Argentina and attracting its best young talents to Europe.
Julian Alvarez and Claudio Echeverri have already made the move to Manchester City and López could be set to join them.
According to their information he is being ‘targeted’ by the City Football Group, who are keeping a close eye on his development as he enjoys a loan spell at Defensa.
They say he is ‘wanted’ by those in charge of the group, who also own the likes of Bahia, Girona and New York City.
Whether there has been any move to sign him or not yet isn’t made clear, but he is on their list as they continue to plunder Argentina for the best young talent.
They reportedly became aware of the youngster after his debut at Halcón de Varela under manager Julio Vaccari and the plan would be to buy him and sign him to a four-and-a-half-year deal.
Whether he would be a signing for Manchester City or one of the other clubs in the network isn’t clear, but the interest is there, and a plan seemingly being formulated.
