The Croatian media today details Sheffield United’s attempt to sign Ivo Grbic from Atlético Madrid.
Sportske writes that the Blades are offering £2m to sign the 33-year-old this month.
The report sounds quite optimistic about the deal, claiming it’s ‘likely’ that Atlético Madrid will accept Sheffield United’s bid.
It’s claimed that the Colchoneros are already working on the arrival of Horatiu Moldovan from Dinamo Bucharest, spending €1m on his signing, and that would clear Grbic’s path to the Blades.
The goalkeeper’s transfer to Sheffield United is seen as a ‘great opportunity’ for him, with Sportske claiming that he can now ‘revitalise’ his career and even get a chance to play for the national team again.
Grbic arrived at Atlético Madrid in 2020, in a move from NK Lokomotiva. This season, though, he hasn’t had a single appearance for the club, and now looks for a place where he can play more.
With the Colchoneros accepting such a low fee for his departure, it seems they’re also showing some cooperation to let him pursue his objectives… likely at Sheffield United.
