Having managed to turn things around for himself at AS Roma on loan from Leeds United, Rasmus Kristensen is now very confident in his abilities ahead of the derby against Lazio.
The player spoke to Mediaset ahead of the game, and was very clear that he was ready for the clash, wanting to play after witnessing the first clash against the city rivals from the bench.
The Leeds loanee started the season slowly after his move to Rome, but a substitute appearance against Sassuolo where he managed to find the back of the net and provide an assist saw him rocket to the top of José Mourinho’s choices at right-back.
He said: “I can’t wait to play this match. The last one was intense, but I experienced it from the bench. It’s very important for us to win. I don’t fear anyone, but I respect the strength of the opponent. In general, we have to show our quality to win the game.”
There is no option to buy in the deal struck between Leeds and AS Roma, meaning that, as things stand, the defender is set to return to Elland Road at the end of the season.
Whether the Serie A side decide to try and open negotiations with the Championship club towards the end of the campaign remains to be seen, but, for now, he’s doing everything he can to impress.
