Two days ago, Foot Mercato stated Barcelona are interested in signing Everton’s Amadou Onana.
Later that day, Mundo Deportivo stated the La Liga side are waiting to raise the funds needed to secure his services.
Saturday’s Marca provides the latest on Barca’s interest and also Everton’s stance on the 22-year-old.
Barca’s priority is to sign a midfielder next summer and Onana is liked by their sporting leaders, because of his physicality and technical abilities.
Gavi’s serious injury seems to have forced the Catalan club to move for a midfielder, at least on loan, in the winter market.
Barca have ‘already had some contacts’, likely with the Belgium international’s entourage, but haven’t yet opened negotiations because there’s still a long way for the next summer market, when a deal is likelier.
Marca’s title states the deal to sign Onana in January is ‘still difficult’ and within the report, it’s said ‘there is no option’ for him to arrive at the Camp Nou next month.
Along with the Everton player, Real Sociedad star Martín Zubimendi is also on Barcelona’s transfer list, and will also be very difficult to sign.
