Having suffered a very poor start to the season by their standards, Manchester United could try and sign some players in January to bolster Erik ten Hag’s squad, and Everton could be one of their targets.

More specifically, it would be Amadou Onana, who has impressed everyone since his transfer to Goodison Park, since becoming a huge fan favourite.

Foot Mercato have an article on the Belgium international, and explain Manchester United are ‘still on the case’ of the Everton star, and are ‘continuing to follow’ the performances of the player in the Premier League.

The belief is he could ‘bring a lot’ to the midfield at Old Trafford, which has suffered this campaign, following a dip in form and injuries to Casemiro.

Manchester United aren’t the only ones after him, however, as Barcelona are also big fans, with a claim they recently contacted the Everton star’s representatives.

The problem for the La Liga side is the price being requested by the Toffees, who would want ‘around €55m’ to sell him.

That has put off the Spaniards for now, and while Manchester United could surprise many and open their chequebook early, the belief is Onana is likely to stay put until the end of the season.

In a tweet promoting the article, the author, Sebastien Denis, added the Red Devils are ‘still very interested’ in the Everton star, with a request of ‘€55-60m’.
