Manager has ‘vetoed’ player’s chances of Leeds January move – Whites target ‘received offers’

Earlier on Tuesday, we covered an article in the Turkish media about how Leeds United’s interest in Kerem Aktürkoğlu had disrupted Lazio’s plans.

The belief was that both clubs could reach the €15m asking price for the forward, but we now have a very different take on the matter on Tuesday afternoon.

It comes from Beyaz Gazete, who have an article about Aktürkoğlu’s situation, and the news will not be good for Leeds.

That’s because they claim that the Galatasaray manager, Okan Buruk, has told both the forward and defender Sacha Boey, who both ‘received offers’ that they will not be going anywhere in January.

In fact, it’s said any move has been ‘vetoed’ by the coach, who reportedly told the Leeds target and Frenchman: “We have big goals. I will need you in the league and in Europe. Wait until the end of the season.”

Therefore, if Leeds do want Kerem Aktürkoğlu, they might have to be patient, and potentially wait until the campaign is over, at which point, depending on results, they could also be on their way back up to the Premier League.

As for the reaction of the two players, it was said to be ‘positive’, meaning they were on board with that idea.
