Ajax youngster Gabriel Misehouy has admitted that it’s great to hear Manchester City are interested in him, but he’s not pushing for a move to the Etihad anytime soon.
Misehouy has been speaking to Ajax Life magazine about his plans for Ajax and whether that includes a move away.
He’s been linked with a move to Manchester City over the course of this month, with it reported at the beginning of November that those in charge at the Etihad were showing a specific interest in him.
City were believed to be closely monitoring his performances and that was backed up in a report a week later, with it explained that Ajax are working hard to keep him out of Manchester City’s hands.
That report included comments from journalist Tim van Duijn of Voetbal International, who made it clear those in charge of the Dutch giants were working hard to ensure their youngster didn’t make the move and the player himself was keen to remain in the Netherlands and succeed where he is.
That’s a sentiment he’s now admitted personally, insisting that while he finds the interest from Manchester City nice, he’s got other ambitions for now.
“It’s great that such a top club is interested. But I have always said that my dream is to stay at Ajax. I just want to have a clear plan,” he said.
“Fortunately, there are now discussions with the club about my future and the plan that lies ahead of me. If that is clear, I am certainly willing to sign. I’ve been playing here for eleven years. Ajax is my house.
“I often hear that I am not patient. I know for myself that this is not true. I find it almost urgent; how should I say that…? An insult, yes.
“My parents are from Ghana. The culture there is very much that you have to be patient and that you have to share. That is also very important at our home. So, it’s not my patience.”
