The report talks about how great Douglas Luiz has been doing for Aston Villa in the past few years, and claims this ‘exceptional level’ attracted eyes from the La Liga side.

Atletico Madrid’s interest is said to be ‘more solid than ever’, and with the club afraid that Rodrigo De Paul could leave them soon, the Brazilian is seen as a great option for their midfield.

The problem is obviously the price, as Douglas Luiz is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €55m, and the story doesn’t even mention how much Aston Villa would demand for him.

Fichajes just points out that the midfielder has some experience in La Liga from his years at Girona, and that would help his adaptation at Atletico Madrid. Now the Colchoneros must find a way to convince Unai Emery’s side of a transfer.
