Following reports today claiming that West Ham director Tim Steidten took a flight to South America to seal the signing of Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto, we now finally get to see a little response from the Brazilian media.
From all major outlets covering the story, it’s only journalist Jorge Nicola who, on Youtube, shares some fresh information on this alleged chase.
The reporter claims to have spoken to people from Corinthians, who said they still haven’t received any contacts from West Ham for the transfer.
Nicola added he hasn’t been able to have a conversation with Yuri Alberto’s agent yet, and it set to bring more updates once he does.
In touch with a ‘super influential’ representative, he heard this official doubts this rumour, as the Hammers should have better options in the Brazilian market, such as Flamengo’s Pedro. It’s said it wouldn’t make sense to go after the Corinthians player before even making contact for the other one.
Yuri Alberto is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €16m. Due to the deal made with Zenit for his signing, Corinthians are only getting 50% of a potential sale.
