With West Ham United reportedly standing close to signing Armando Broja from Chelsea this summer, the news is of great interest in Italy.
The reason for it is that AS Roma keep up with their strong chase for Hammers striker Gianluca Scamacca.
As today reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport, Broja’s arrival at West Ham would be ‘key’ for the Giallorossi to land the Italian striker.
It’s claimed that with the arrival of Broja, West Ham would have too many centre-forwards in the squad, and his departure could therefore become easier.
That’s why Roma are set to probe the ground in the coming days. If their director Tiago Pinto finds ‘positive feedback’ from the Hammers, then there’s a good chance they will end up moving for the signing.
West Ham’s intention is still said to be to ‘monetise’ from Scamacca’s departure, as they made a big investment in his signing.
Roma, meanwhile, will do their best to try for a cheap loan deal.
