In the past few months, we’ve covered several quotes from people at Fluminense who want Thiago Silva back at the club.

With the defender recently signing a contract extension which ties him to Chelsea until the summer of 2024, it seemed like the Brazilian side would need to postpone that dream and wait a little longer until he finally makes his comeback.

Now a surprising story is brought by Extra columnist Gilmar Ferreira, who claims that move is possibly happening this summer.

Fluminense have been doing very well this year, and according to this piece, that has been encouraging Thiago Silva to leave Chelsea earlier than expected.

It’s claimed that the defender is willing to give up on his final season with the Blues to return to Brazil this summer. For that to happen, he needs a deal with club director Christopher Vivell.

According to Gilmar Ferreira, Silva already ‘decided’ about his return to Brazil, and is set to speak to the club on the 28th of May, when Chelsea play their final Premier League match of the season against Newcastle United.
