Everton are ‘pushing hard’ for Inter Milan forward Joaquin Correa ahead of the summer transfer window.

That’s according to Inter Live, who say the Argentine remains the ‘main suspect’ for a sale as the Italian side looks to raise funds in the summer.

They explain that there had been hope Simone Inzaghi would get the best out of the player at the club after their time together at Lazio, but that has not been the case.

Something in Correa’s ‘intricate mechanism’ broke and that, combined with a lack of consistency and precarious physical state means he’s never been ‘close to optimal’.

Thus, they are happy to move him on this summer, with him considered a ‘dead weight’ on the squad that can be sold to bring in much needed funds.

At the moment there are not many offers on the plate for the player but there is certainly interest from the Premier League, with Everton one of the club’s ‘pushing hard’ for his signature.

The big issue is that he has a contract with Inter until 2025 and the Italian side’s demands for a transfer ‘would not be very low’ at this point in time because they want to monetise a sale as much as possible.

That’s clearly a problem for Everton, whose finances are limited to say the least, and unlikely to stretch enough to match Inter’s demands, whatever they may be.

It seems they’re interested, though, and could be given the chance to get a deal done with Inter looking to sell the player.
