This week, the Brazilian media had several stories about the future of Tottenham Hotspur forward Lucas Moura.
Some of them said Palmeiras were interested in signing him for free next summer, and even made an approach for that.
Well, it didn’t take long for journalist Jorge Nicola to go after more information on that potential contact.
The reporter spoke to Moura’s agent Junior Pedroso, and ended up being told that Palmeiras have shown no interest in the Tottenham player so far.
“It’s not true. There was no contact from Palmeiras. No poll, no proposal,” Junior Pedroso told Jorge Nicola.
“It is still early to close with any club. I can assure you that we are meeting with many interested teams in Europe.”
Lucas Moura’s contract with Tottenham expires at the end of the season, and with no wish for a renewal, he’s set to leave the club for free.
The forward only has 13 appearances for Spurs this season, most of them being used as a late substitution, and it’s quite clear he’s not in Antonio Conte’s plans for the future.
According to Nicola, Moura has already told his former club São Paulo that he’s not keen on returning to Brazil so soon.
He’s also been heavily linked to a move to Fenerbahce, although his agent has also denied that rumour as well.
