Atlético Madrid’s pursuit for Leicester City defender Caglar Söyüncü is expected to soon become more intense.
Spanish newspaper Marca today features a story saying Colchonero defender Felipe is having his final days at the club, as he’s expected to move to the Premier League.
Then it’s claimed that Atlético, who already have an agreement with Söyüncü to sign him as a free agent next summer, would then try to ‘accelerate’ his arrival by speaking to Leicester City.
That’s said to be a ‘clear’ plan for the La Liga side. They only need to reach a deal with the Foxes to anticipate the defender’s move in six months.
It’s pointed out that Söyüncü is not in Leicester City’s plans, and that’s seen as the big reasons why the clubs would not need to wait until the summer to make that move.
The defender indeed only has three appearances for the Foxes this season, with manager Brendan Rodgers not making much use of him. It’s not said how much Atlético Madrid want to play for that transfer, but judging by how much Leicester City would avoid paying in wages, that seems like a good solution for all involved.
