Tottenham are ‘not willing to facilitate’ the departure of Bryan Gil this month, despite the player wanting to return to Spain on loan.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who cover the situation around the player today and how it is getting more complicated as Antonio Conte is handing him playing time.
Yesterday we covered a report from Diario de Sevilla that stated Tottenham were blocking another loan move for Gil this month as they wanted him for their squad moving forwards.
Conte had made it clear that they need a replacement for the youngster before letting him go in a similar deal to the one that saw him spend the second half of last season on loan at Valencia.
Estadio follow that up today, stating that Conte’s decision to hand Gil a starting role in the last two games and the player’s performances ‘only complicate’ the player’s future.
Gil wants to get minutes under his belt and had intended to secure a return to Spain this month, on loan, in order to get it.
Valencia are one of the clubs chasing his signature once again, although they have other priorities at present due to injuries.
Tottenham are also ‘not willing to facilitate’ a departure for Gil at this point in the window, forcing Valencia to focus on other priorities.
That is why Sevilla have also emerged as another option for him, particularly as Jorge Sampaoli is a big fan of the player, but they know that they might have to wait until the end of the window for a deal.
That’s because Conte has suddenly decided to hand Gil a starting role, something the player has taken with both hands, and which could satisfy his desire for playing time for the time being.
