Following the injury sustained by Manuel Neuer while skiing, Bayern Munich are looking around for a new goalkeeper and a potential long-term successor.

They already have Alexander Nübel, who is on loan at AS Monaco, but there are no guarantees they can bring him back just yet, meaning they could be forced to sign someone, and Illan Meslier at Leeds United has caught their eye.

This comes courtesy of French outlet Media Foot, who have a report on Friday claiming that after a couple of big Premier League clubs, it’s now the Bavarians who are eyeing up the Elland Road star.

While they are reportedly looking at Emiliano Mártinez, Bayern would have also ‘enquired’ about the Leeds goalkeeper by contacting his agent.

As things stand, however, it’s made clear the Bundesliga giants ‘aren’t starting off as favourites’ because Meslier has a preference ‘for a destiny in England’.

Therefore, it seems that while the Leeds player might be of interest to Bayern Munich, it might not be the same the other way.

Furthermore, it seems unlikely that Victor Orta and co. would even entertain offers for Meslier, especially midway through the season, such is his importance at the club and their project going forward.
