Earlier on Monday, we covered a piece from Spanish newspaper AS saying Tottenham Hotspur are in ‘open talks’ to sign Pedro Porro from Sporting.

It was claimed Spurs are willing to pay a fee between €25m and €30m to sign him in January, despite the Lions’ resistance to letting him go in the middle of the season.

It turns out there something very similar today from Portuguese newspaper A Bola, who claim Tottenham have been ‘very impressed’ with Porro since their clashes with Sporting in the Champions League. It’s once again said the London side could ‘attack’ the player in the January transfer window.

The Lions know it will be hard to hold the fullback at the end of the season, but losing him in January isn’t part of their plans. That’s why they’re set to demand over €30m to let him go so soon.

Porro is considered to be one of the most valuable assets in Sporting’s squad, and that’s why the club are prepared to fight to keep him. A Bola finishes its story claiming manager Ruben Amorim ‘counts on the player’ and the club will ‘do everything’ to hold him.
