In the past couple of days, Championship side Burnley were linked to Chilean midfielder Lucas Assadi.
It were reports from Europe and South America who claimed that the Clarets are along with Valencia and Benfica in the race for the youngster.
To talk about that rumour, Spanish outlet El Desmarque today features a story introducing the Universidad de Chile player, and detailing the competition for the signing.
That’s a different scenario that he’d need to face in case of transfers to Benfica and Burnley.
That’s believed to be an advantage for the Mestalla side, even though it’s not yet clear if they’re in advanced negotiations for his signing.
What makes Benfica, Burnley and Valencia all stand together in the competition is the fee for his transfer, because Assadi is believed to have a €2m release clause, which seems to be pretty affordable for all clubs involved.
