Empoli signed Guglielmo Vicario in summer 2021 on a loan contract which had a purchase clause. Impressed with the goalkeeper, they used that clause a year later and secured the 26-year-old permanently.
Vicario could be moving again quickly, report Serie B News. Lazio were keen in the summer, and now AS Roma and Juventus are also in the picture.
That would see Empoli needing to get themselves a new goalkeeper, and that’s where a financial boost for Leeds United could arrive.
Leeds United let Caprile move to Bari in a cut-price deal, but, and this is looking increasingly wise, they secured a rather hefty share of a future transfer fee.
According to a report earlier this month, Leeds United are due around 50% of a fee, having let Caprile move for less than €150k. Should they get a return on that as quickly as the winter window, or even next summer, it will be a nice piece of business for the Premier League club.
