Felipe Avenatti’s agent has held talks with Pescara with regards to the player moving to the Serie A side in the summer.

The 23-year-old will be a free agent in June when his Ternana contract expires, and has been linked with a move to Leeds United.

Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio has reported Pescara are already looking to the summer despite the winter transfer winter only closing last night.

The Italian club are looking to land Avenatti in the summer on a free transfer, along with his Ternana teammate Cesar Falletti, whose contract also expires at the end of the season.

However, it’s been revealed talks will be tough to sign both Uruguayans, and it could also depend if the club can remain in Serie A for next season.

Now it’s been confirmed Avenatti will see out his contract with the Serie B club, a scramble to sign the South American is likely to happen in the summer.

Leeds United could be one of those clubs looking to snap the player up on a free transfer after their previous attempts to sign him. Leeds United made an approach for Avenatti in the last window, but again were unsuccessful.

Leeds United will face competition from a host of Serie A and B clubs looking to take Avenatti on a free.
