Leeds United youngster Keenan Carole is the son of ex-Whites winger, Sébastien Carole.
Earlier this month, the Whites confirmed the 17-year-old has signed his first professional contract with the club.
The midfielder signed a two-year deal with the Premier League side, after impressing for Leeds’ U18 side and also featuring for their U23 side last season.
Sébastien has admitted it is a “privilege” and pride for his family that his son has signed his first professional contract with one of his former clubs. His comments are relayed in today’s edition of Nice-Matin.
“I had talent, yes, but I didn’t really like getting hurt. Let’s say that I was not a hard worker. On the other hand, Keenan, one of my three sons, is quite the opposite. He has crazy energy on the pitch, can do a lot of things, with and without the ball,” Keenan’s father said.
“This is just one step in his career. He plays in the same position as me but he does it with much more determination.”
Sébastien spent two years at Leeds between 2006 and 2008, but failed to leave a mark at the English club.
“I had signed to play in the Premier League, but we ended up relegated. But it remains an exceptional adventure, there were 45,000 people in Elland Road, madness,” he added.
Sébastien now remains hopeful Keenan, who is a Barcelona fan, can have a much more successful career than him at Leeds.
“It would be a very good story for him to succeed in what I couldn’t do at Leeds,” the father concluded.
