Watford defender Kiki Femenia finds a potential move to Almeria ‘very attractive’ after the Spanish side emerged as a contender for his signature.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who say that the Spanish club have an ‘advantage’ over the competition in the race for the Watford man.
Recent reports have indicated that Almeria are keen on Femenia, and Estadio have been able to back this up, reporting that the club’s sporting director Joao Gonçalves is ‘already working with great energy’ on potential transfers.
Indeed the club have already sounded out the defender about a move and, according to Estadio’s information, the player sees the club as ‘very attractive’.
Almeria are seen as a side with high aspirations with a desire to grow and the economic stability to do so; something Femenia is well aware of.
The Catalan is now open to leaving Watford and returning to Spain and so isn’t closing the door to any options put forward to him.
One ‘advantage’ that Almeria have is that Gonçalves has a good relationship with the agency that represents the Watford man. Indeed it is seen as ‘fluid’ while the communication is ‘perfect’, thus facilitating a move.
For the moment, nothing has been advanced, and Almeria will still need to work out a deal with Watford, who will demand a fee for a player who has a contract until 2024 at Vicarage Road.
