Piotr Zielinski’s wait for a Liverpool transfer continues, according to the latest claims from Italy.
Not for the first time it’s been stated that Zielinski wants a Liverpool transfer, and not for the first it’s also stated that the Premier League club only see him as a back-up option.
In their Tuesday edition, Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport say Napoli are interested in the Polish midfielder, having become tired of a potential Axel Witsel move.
Napoli have been able to agree a fee with Zenit for the Belgium international, but the player himself is unwilling to give up his high salary of €4m a season.
That’s far too much for Napoli president De Laurentiis, who believes Witsel’s demands are excessive. That has moved Napoli on to considering 22 year old Zielinski of Udinese, but it’s stated that he’s still waiting for a call from Jurgen Klopp to sign for Liverpool.
That in turn has led Napoli to considering Roberto Pereyra of Juventus, who the Naples club would value around €15m, but in Turin they want €18m.
Zielinski must be really keen on Liverpool if he’s prepared to let Napoli move on, and continue to wait for Klopp’s call.
