Late on Tuesday, there was excitement in the Barcelona sphere, with Spanish reporter Gerard Romero claiming the La Liga side had 99% sealed the free transfer of Chelsea’s Andreas Christensen.
That was then calmed down a little bit on Wednesday by the German media, who stated that Bayern Munich still had a chance, with the Denmark international at the centre of a tug of war as he let his agents do all the work.
Well, Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenburg has added his two cents a bit later on Wednesday, claiming the Chelsea defender ‘could take his decision ‘maybe next week’’ regarding his future.
As things stand, a stay at Stamford Bridge seems out of the question, as the German journalist explains it’s ‘Barcelona vs Bayern in the next few days’.
Update #Christensen: Been told that he could take his decision „maybe next week“. It‘s #FCBarcelona vs. #FCBayern in the next days … @SkySportsNews #CFC 🇩🇰 https://t.co/peuTJB0zrb

On the face of it, it would make sense for the Catalan press to believe their team have a better chance than their Bavarian counterparts and vice-versa, and the decision ultimately rests with the Chelsea man.
Until he comes out and makes his future clear, or a club announces they have signed him, we will likely get more of this in the coming days.
