West Ham United are about to make a formal bid for the signing of Arthur Cabral in the coming days, according to claims from Brazil.
As reported by Goal Brasil, the Hammers have told the player’s staff they’re submitting an offer before next Thursday.
The story says the numbers of the operation are a secret, although they know how much Basel want for the move. That’s a fee of €15m, all paid at once.
Regarding Cabral’s demands, it’s said the player would like to make €2.5m per season, and West Ham are already aware of that.
Goal claims that agents Luiz Portela and Paulo Pitombeira are working on the deal to build a transfer to the Premier League, while the Hammers have competition from Barcelona, Newcastle United and Zenit, who’ve recently shown the interest.
West Ham have been linked to Cabral for a couple of months now, with Goal reporting their interest a few times, and it’s always been said the Hammers were still to submit their bid. Now it sounds like the London side were just waiting for the transfer window to open to take action.
The striker has an impressive record for Basel this season, with 27 goals and eight assists in 31 appearances.
