Nahitan Nandez was linked to multiple Premier League clubs ahead of and during the summer transfer window, as he looked to get a move away from Cagliari.
West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur were both said to be in the picture, but it was Leeds United who were linked the most. Inter Milan was thought to be the player’s favourite destination, however, Cagliari wanted to secure the best deal for them and weren’t interested in a loan move.
Nandez grew frustrated, and at one point he refused to fly with the club’s squad to Spain, where they were set to take part in a friendly match. That inevitably saw a very public fall-out, yet Nandez still didn’t get his move.
Leeds have been pulled back into the picture in recent weeks, and FCInterNews cover claims from Ciclo Deportivo.
It’s said Leeds United ‘return to the office’ for another attempt at the signing, although there’s a very clear claim this could be a ‘classic media move’ to put pressure on Inter Milan to come forward more concretely.
Nandez has been ‘promised’ to Inter, but the club don’t appear to be doing an awful lot to secure him.
