Colombia boss Reinaldo Rueda has once again made it clear to James Rodriguez that he needs to be playing at Everton if he is to return to the national side.
The Colombian star has been missing from international duty for the last few months, having been left out of their squad for the Copa America when he was deemed to not be fit enough.
That led to something of a public war of words between him and his nation, which has naturally led him to being ostracised for the foreseeable future.
That situation has now changed, according to reports in his homeland, which have told of a reconciliation between Rodriguez and Rueda.
That’s something he’s now reiterated, stating that Rodriguez needs to be playing regularly if he is to make his return.
“It is better not to talk about assumptions; we all want James to play,” Futbolete report him saying.
“Hopefully in a very competitive league, but first of all, we want him to play so that we can get him back for the national team.”
