Even though Domenico Berardi didn’t leave Sassuolo in the summer, the Italian media is confident it won’t take long until he finds a new destination.

Calcio Mercato today features a story saying the winger told his club of a desire to leave a while ago, and a new race for his signing should be formed very soon.

The outlet lists three sides who have recently been interested in signing the 27-year-old: Fiorentina, Leicester City and AC Milan.

Even though Calcio Mercato obviously gives more attention to the Serie A clubs, they still bring an interesting line regarding the Foxes’ chase for Berardi.

Their story claims there have been ‘some in-depth contacts’ with Leicester City, adding that this is a ‘track to be carefully followed in view of the January transfer market’. That potentially brings some excitement for Leicester fans in the not too distant future.

One of the reasons Berardi didn’t leave Sassuolo in the summer was that the Serie A side were demanding €40m for his sale.

Now it’s claimed the price could be reduced by €5-6m, as the player ‘waits and hopes’ for a move.
