Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has detailed the ‘chaotic situation’ he recently ended up in courtesy of Covid regulations.
Lindelof is currently on international duty with Sweden, who flew out to Greece for a World Cup qualifying clash with them tomorrow evening.
It seems, however, that they were soon met with a ‘chaotic situation’, according to Aftonbladet, when they arrived in the country.
They explain that several players were immediately forced into groups to be tested by the Greek authorities before they were granted entry.
One of those who were taken away was Manchester United’s Lindelof, who had obviously arrived via a trip from England in the first place.
Whether that was why he ended up as part of those being tested isn’t mentioned, but given the rising cases in the United Kingdom, it wouldn’t be a surprise.
Either way, he was questioned about the situation in a press conference and commented on the unusual events.
“It was pretty calm anyway,” Aftonbladet report the Manchester United man saying.
“There was some misunderstanding. There were some who had to go straight to the hotel and some who had to do a quick test.
“But it worked out pretty well, and we still got to the hotel, so it was calm. I had to do an extra test at the airport.”
