Tottenham offer player €8m a season to join them – Fabio Paratici proposes 5-year-deal

Franck Kessie’s contract at AC Milan expires less than a year from now, and that puts the Serie A club in a difficult situation.

They’ve been working on a renewal for a while, and there’s been a clear willingness from both sides to get something agreed and extend their time together. However, as ever, there’s the issue of money and there’s no agreement on that yet.

Such a situation presents the possibility for other clubs to move into the picture and consider signing Kessie as a free agent, in less than a year from now, when he’ll be 25-years-of-age. Tottenham are in that bracket, according to Italian journalist Alessandro Jacobone.

He reports that Tottenham director Fabio Paratici has held a meeting with the midfielder’s agent, George Atangana, and the result of that was Spurs offering a five-year deal.

That contract would be worth €8m a season after tax, and is entirely dependent on Kessie arriving as a free agent next summer.

This could be dismissed as agent games to pressure AC Milan, but it does look like a formula Paratici has used previously, so if the player hasn’t renewed by Christmas, this one deserves much greater attention.
