A day after Real Madrid confirmed Sergio Ramos will leave the club as a free agent this summer, Manchester United, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain were named as suitors for the centre-back.
On June 17th, we relayed news from Spain that the defender’s entourage have been in contact with the Citizens leaders for a ‘long time’.
These claims are once again relayed in Monday’s edition of AS as the English champions and the Red Devils have ‘shown interest’ in the 35-year-old.
Pep Guardiola has four centre-backs at his disposal and even though they have made contact with the Spaniard’s entourage, there’s no urgency for them to sign a new player in the same position.
It was reported in Spain at the weekend that Manchester City were directly offered the chance to sign Ramos, and have outright rejected the idea.
A move to United could only be considered if the defender’s deal with Paris Saint-Germain doesn’t materialise.
AS add the Ligue 1 side have made a proposal and it’s ‘financially superior’ to that of supposed offers made by the two Manchester clubs.
For now, Ramos ‘prefers’ PSG over United and City, and if he were to pick one from the latter two, he ‘prioritises’ Solskjaer’s side.
