Real Sociedad chief Roberto Olabe has revealed they are ‘waiting’ for Wolverhampton Wanderers to make a decision about striker Willian José.
José joined Wolves on loan in the January transfer window as they looked to source a replacement for Raul Jimenez following his season-ending injury.
He endured something of a disappointing time in the Midlands, managing just one goal and one assist in 17 Premier League appearances.
At first, it appeared Wolves would secure a permanent deal this summer, but that has changed in recent weeks, with it made clear that they don’t want the striker despite having an option on a permanent deal.
It’s become ‘more and more remote’ that they will pursue a deal, and his future is pretty much in the air.
It seems, though, the situation rests solely with Wolves, at least if Olabe’s latest comments are anything to go by.
“We are waiting for what Wolverhampton say, but the intention is for Willian José to leave,” El Desmarque report him saying.
“We already decided something about him in December.
“We want to have a slightly shorter squad this year to be able to count on players from Sanse”.
