ESPN Mexico brings today some updates on what the national team is planning to do with Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez this summer.

They claim that following the recovery from his cranial injury, the player has been cleared fit by the Premier League side to take part in Copa Oro in July.

However, it still doesn’t mean Wolves would like Jimenez to feature in the tournament, and ESPN’s sources claim the Molineux actually don’t want him to take any risks, and it’s unlikely he’ll have any minutes.

It’s said the Premier League club would like to have the 26-year-old in their pre-season, and until then, he’d better stay as quiet as possible.

ESPN even quotes one of the sources who explained the entire situation.

“The idea of his club is to give him the opportunity to go with the Mexican National Team to the United States, to accompany the group, to train, but not to play,” the source said.

“Wolves are not willing to take risks, they want him fully recovered to start the preseason and then he would only be given permission to accompany the group, as he did in Wales in the last call for the National Team.”

Raul Jimenez has also been named in the pre-list of players who could take part in Concacaf’s Nations League next month, but the final call-up is still to be announced by Mexico.
