Georginio Wijnaldum’s future is likely to be away from Liverpool, but it’s still not clear as where he will move next.

With a contract expiring on June 30th, the Reds midfielder can join a new club on a free transfer in the summer.

Bayern Munich were one of the clubs rumoured to be interested in the 30-year-old. Earlier this month, Wijnaldum’s agent Humphry Nijman told Sport1 that if the Bavarian club are interested in his client, there can ‘feel free’ to contact him.

A day after Nijman’s comments, Bild journalist Christian Falk stated there’s no truth in claims of the Bundesliga winners wanting to sign the Netherlands international.

On May 14th, FCB Inside even accused the representative of planting rumours in the media.

Despite all this, Sport1 now provide a fresh update and state the German champions are chasing the former Newcastle United man. There’s a response now after the representative’s ‘announcement’.

According to Sport1 chief reporter Florian Plettenberg, Bayern have ‘shown their interest’ in the Liverpool player and have ‘contacted’ his camp.

Plettenberg further states he has found out from the Dutchman’s environment the ‘talks are going well’ and a summer deal is ‘possible’.

Regarding this case, it’s worth waiting to see how other German outlets respond to this news because the last time it happened, it was dismissed.
