West Ham United initially took Tomáš Souček on a loan deal from Slavia Prague in the winter 2020 market and made his transfer permanent in July.
The midfielder was a regular for David Moyes’ side in the second half of the last season and that convinced the Premier League side to offer him a four-year contract.
Souček has continued to impress with his performances this season and that has seen him linked with a move away from the Hammers.
The latest reports in the British press talked about Bayern Munich as a potential candidate interested in the Czech Republic international, and the 25-year-old has responded to the recent speculation linking him to the treble winners.
“A lot of people ask me about it. I have an agreement with my agent Pavel Paska that I don’t want to talk about it [transfers] until something is on the table,” he told Czech TV channel ČT Sport.
Souček admitted the recent claims about the reported interest from big clubs in signing him makes him happy, but made it clear he isn’t dealing with any offers to leave West Ham.
“So, I’m at peace in West Ham and I’m enjoying the time here. But it’s definitely nice to read or hear [these rumours], it gives me strength for matches and I’m happy for that. I’m not dealing with such offers yet,” the player explained.
West Ham, who were successful in avoiding relegation last season, have enjoyed a good start to the campaign this term, winning six of their first 12 matches. They are currently sixth in the table.
“…it’s a great start for us. We know what last season was like, it was tough, almost [in] relegation [zone] until the last round. I used to win everything for Slavia and I would like to be in the top half of the table with West Ham,” Souček stressed.
