Late last week, we covered some interviews in Poland regarding Bartosz Kapustka’s time at Leicester City, with the player explaining why he left the King Power Stadium.
On top of that, his former agent explained the then youngster was somewhat tricked by new representatives to sign at a club where he would never play, which ended up being the case.
During his four years contracted to Leicester, Kapustka only ever made three appearances for the first-team, sent on loan to Freiburg and OH Leuven along the way.
Now, speaking to Po Gwidzku, relayed by Super Express, the 23-year-old opened up some more about why things didn’t work out in England, and he believes part of it might have been down to him.
He said: “Maybe I was focusing too much on being nice to everyone. I definitely should be more selfish and just think about my career. Maybe because I was trying to be fair to everyone, maybe I was too humble. It seems to be that the best footballers in the world do not have much humility, because they know what they can do”.
Having since returned this summer on a free to his home country with Legia Warsaw, the attacking midfielder is trying to rebuild his career.
Thankfully, time is on his side, and with some minutes already under his belt this season (792 of them), spread over 13 appearances during which he’s scored one goal and picked up one assist, he’s on the right track to perhaps, one day, prove everyone in Leicester wrong.
