A week ago, SportBild explained Bayern Munich are optimistic about signing Leroy Sané next summer.
SportBild now claims the Germany international has decided to leave Manchester City for the Bavarians and he even wishes to join the Bundesliga giants in January.
Bayern were keen on the 23-year-old in the last window, but a serious injury to the player in August blocked the transfer.
They’ll have to deal with Pep Guardiola’s side to sign the winger in the winter market. City asked €150m before the start of this season, but SportBild believe the price would have to be considerably lowered now.
It’s unclear if City will demand a higher transfer fee for an injured player in January than compared to next summer, when he would have regained full fitness. He is expected to return to the pitch in February.
Sané’s contract at Manchester City expires in 2021 and he’s ‘persistently’ refusing to sign an extension. The Premier League winners don’t want to let him leave as a free agent.
SportBild states the Etihad club are under observation from UEFA for Financial Fair Play regulations, which is why they state the club will have to cash in from Sané’s sale in order to raise funds for incoming transfers.
Bayern’s leaders are committed to signing Sané after this campaign and if no deal takes shape in January, they will make an effort to sign him in the next summer transfer window.
As far as SportBild are concerned, Sané wants the move ‘immediately’.
