Norwich City midfielder Emiliano Buendía has shared his delight after the Canaries win over Manchester City on Saturday, as the newly-promoted side pulled off the shock of the weekend as they beat the reigning champions 3-2 at Carrow Road.
It was a result few saw coming, with many expecting another City walkover as they try to defend their title this season.
Instead, they were expertly dispatched by Norwich, who put on a display of exciting attacking football coupled with defensive diligence.
They also provided the exact template for the rest of the league on how to play City, particularly overcoming their pressing style.
Buendía was a crucial player in the game, earning rave reviews afterwards, and says the result came about because of he and his teammates’ bravery.
Buendía has been a regular for Norwich in the Premier League this season, missing just seven minutes of league football to date.
Those five Premier League games have already seen him rack up four assists in an impressive start to life in the topflight.
He’s hoping that form will catch the eye of the national team, admitting it’s a dream to turn out for La Albiceleste.
“I was lucky to play the World Cup with the U20 in 2015, and it was a dream come true,” he added, “but the goal is to play with the first-team. I work towards that, and I have the dream of achieving it.”
