As we get closer and closer to Antonio Conte officially taking over at Chelsea when the Euros come to an end, the different possibilities for the Italian manager on the transfer market seem endless.
One of the big stories throughout the season was whether or not Juan Cuadrado would continue at Juventus or return to Chelsea to play in the new manager’s 3-5-2, but that seems to have gone very quiet in recent months.
The new story on the block regarding that right wing-back role is Lazio’s Antonio Candreva, currently with Antonio Conte in France for the Euros as a member of the Italy national team.
The Italian winger is currently Conte’s first choice on the right-hand side, and Gazzetta dello Sport suggest Chelsea are after his signature for next season, alongside Inter Milan.
Candreva has made it clear he would like to transfer to another club for next year, and Inter Milan were always reported as the most interested.
However, Chelsea turning up might severely scupper Roberto Mancini’s plans, especially since Conte has direct access to the player over the coming month.
We wonder if they’re having little chats about a possible move to Chelsea.
Would that be considered tapping up? He is his current manager, after all.
