Fulham player Luciano Vietto will start negotiating a contract with a possible new club this week, according to the Portuguese press.
Newspaper O Jogo reports that the striker, who’s loaned to by Atletico Madrid to the London side until the end of the season, is keen on joining Sporting next summer.
He already knows about an agreement between Lions and Colchoneros, and should speak to the Lisbon club this week to discuss personal terms.
Vietto currently makes €2m per season, and that’s Sporting’s biggest obstacle when negotiating a deal with him.
“Vietto’s technique advises his placement in the central corridor. It’s a waste to put him on the left or right,” said Adrian Gomes, from Radio Marca.
Cezar Izquierdo, from Super Deporte, said: “The ideal system for him is a 4-4-2. In this way, he can play the role of a more mobile attacker supporting a centre forward. In the case of Sporting, I am sure that he would form a great pair with Dost.”
So maybe that’s the reason why Vietto has only one goal in 22 appearances for the London side so far.
