Former Leeds United star Andy Ritchie has questioned why the club’s captain Sol Bamba has left the club. The Ivorian recently exited Elland Road by mutual consent.
“It’s a little bit risky. But the thing about Sol Bamba, for me, is how he has sort of dropped down the pecking order so quickly. I don’t know what’s happened there and that’s the baffling thing for me.
“He was captain. Some managers then have club captains and actual on-the-pitch captains which is a bit alien to me,” said the former Leeds United forward.
Bamba joined Leeds United from Serie A side Palermo in 2015 after he an earned a contract following a successful six-month loan spell. The 31-year-old played 29 league games last season, but didn’t feature in Leeds United’s last three Championship matches.
