The Valencia centre-back has been linked with a move away from La Liga for the past month or so, and long negotiations with Everton even took place.
However, these still haven’t come to anything, and according to France Football journalist Nabil Djellit, Chelsea want to bring in the Tunisia international on a loan with a view to buy.
The Premier League club are apparently in negotiations with the Spanish side, and the apparent arrival of Eliaquim Mangala from Manchester City on loan would fill the void rather nicely.
With so many clubs circling around the former Toulouse and Monaco centre-back, a deal should be done before the end of the transfer window, but whether it’s Antonio Conte’s Chelsea remains to be seen.
