Tottenham Hotspur welcome PSV to Wembley on Tuesday in a match which is likely more about who finishes third and fourth in their Champions League group rather than who qualifies.
Spurs have had a tough start to their European campaign and to stand any chance of progression they need to brush PSV aside. But this PSV side is in excellent form.
Sitting top of the Eredivisie, Marc van Bommel’s side have 11 victories from 11 league matches. Over that period they’ve scored 39 goals and only conceded four, there’s a reason for the team’s high confidence.
Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf believe PSV could take advantage of some Tottenham discomfort at Wembley, and they’re spoken to Jurgen Locadia to get his take.
The Brighton and Hove Albion player moved from PSV and has been asked for insight into Spurs’ situation.
Brighton don’t face Tottenham away until April, by which time it’s expected Wembley will be a thing of the past for the club.
On the team generally, Locadia is clearly a fan: “Wembley just hasn’t become the home base for Tottenham. But there is still a great team against PSV tomorrow.
“Especially the midfield and the Tottenham attack are fantastic. With Harry Kane there is a great striker, Christian Eriksen takes care of the creativity. And do not underestimate Moussa Dembélé. I have seen this with my own eyes this season. He has developed super, although the question is whether he recovered from an injury in time. PSV also has to deal with the intensity with which English teams play in their own country. It is so different. I cannot explain that, you first have to experience this as a player here.”
