It would appear that much of the Spanish media is focusing on Kepa to Chelsea on Tuesday afternoon because the claims keep on coming.
Firstly El Correo got hold of the story and the reliable Basque newspaper said there’d been no contact with Kepa. Then they posted an update explaining that changed this morning when Chelsea started talks.
Soon came claims that Chelsea would pay the player’s buyout clause on Wednesday, and now Mundo Deportivo say the money has already been transferred to the appropriate section of La Liga.
To be absolutely clear, Mundo Deportivo state: ‘Chelsea has already made the transfer of 80 million euros of its clause and tomorrow will be one of their lawyers at the headquarters of LaLiga to sign papers that make it official’
El Correo have it slightly differently, they say that whilst the goalkeeper is certainly edging towards a potential transfer, he hasn’t yet given the final ‘yes’ to Chelsea.
They do make it sound like things are happening, though, with Kepa said to be travelling to Madrid.
