According to a claim in the Italian media, Wolverhampton Wanderers are closing in on Inter Milan attacking midfielder Joao Mario.
The Portugal international looks surplus to requirements at the San Siro and last season was loaned out to West Ham United for the second half of the campaign.
FCInterNews report Wolves are ‘intensifying contacts’ to sign the player, and are open to the possibility of signing the player on a permanent deal.
It’s reported that as long as Wolves present the ‘right offer’ than a transfer can be closed ‘in a few days’.
It’s also claimed Everton remain interested in Mario but are only looking for a loan deal with no right of redemption to sign him. Bournemouth are said to have offered Inter a permanent deal, but the player himself isn’t interested in such a move.
The Portuguese international is contracted to Inter Milan until June 2021 after joining the Serie A side from Sporting in 2016.
