According to a claim in the Italian media, SPAL are the latest club to show an interest in Atalanta forward Andrea Petagna, but face competition from Southampton.
The attacker has been linked with a move to Southampton a few days ago, along with fellow Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Calciomercato report SPAL are in the market for a forward this summer and Petagna is an option for the Serie A club.
A move to SPAL would guarantee the player a higher salary to what he’s currently earning with Atalanta, but he remains unconvinced over the move. It’s expected the 22 year old will wait for other offers, with Southampton again linked with the forward.
Last week we covered reports from Italy Southampton and Wolves were interested in Petagna and that Atalanta we are looking for bids from €10 to €12m.
The Serie A club would also be looking for a 10% sell on clause for the Southampton and Wolves target.
