Over the last few seasons, Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has struggled to hit the heights he’s previously been capable of.
Since Jurgen Klopp took charge at Anfield in October 2015, the England international has struggled for regular playing time.
Lack of playing time at the Merseyside club saw the Reds allow Sturridge to join West Bromwich Albion on loan in the January transfer window. In his third appearance for them, the former Manchester City and Chelsea striker suffered an injury.
Sturridge was forced to sit on the sidelines and made three more appearances after returning to full fitness. The 28-year-old’s arrival couldn’t stop West Brom from being relegated to the Championship.
Today’s edition of Catalan newspaper Sport claims Sevilla are interested in signing Sturridge this summer.
Sturridge has one year left on his contract with the Premier League club. The report claims the player is closer towards leaving Liverpool as he has a “foot and a half” towards a transfer.
However, local Sevilla newspaper Estadio Deportivo say Sevilla haven’t made a move for Sturridge, and they’re doubtful whether that’ll happen.
Over in Turkey, Besiktas are repeatedly said to be keen.
