Tottenham Hotspur aren’t one of the Premier League clubs most linked with Portugal based players, but over the past couple of weeks there’s been two players linked to the club.
Maybe Tottenham are looking more toward the country for possible recruits, because on Saturday evening an official from the club attended Benfica’s game away to Tondela, report Portuguese newspaper O Jogo in their Sunday edition.
It’s not the easiest ground to get to in Portugal, and usually most scouts and officials attend games in either Lisbon or Porto.
Benfica won the match 2-0 and there are several players who Spurs may have been keeping an eye on.
19 year old attacking midfielder Andre Horta (pictured above) was the Man of the Match, and scored his club’s second goal. That’s not to say he’s a Tottenham target.
We’ll keep an eye on Tottenham’s trips in Portugal to see if it becomes clear what kind of player they’re looking for.
